Swine Flu Advice – Information for Prospective Students


  1. The world Health Organisation declared on 11th June 2009 that swine flu is a global pandemic spreading in several communities.

  2. The UK is well prepared for dealing with a pandemic and stocks of anti-viral drugs for treating flu are available.

  3. There are confirmed cases of swine flu in the UK. Kaplan International College is following UK government guidelines on swine flu and normal activity continue across all its colleges. The situation is being monitored on a regular basis.

  4. Our primary concern is the well-being of students and staff. Up-to-date information and advice on prevention and treatment of suspected swine flu is provided regularly. General hygiene such as frequent hand-washing and quick disposal of used tissues can help to prevent the spread of the virus.

 

They symptoms of swine flu in people are similar to regular human flu:

  • Fever (high temperature)
  • Tiredness (fatigue)
  • Lack of appetite
  • Coughing, and
  • Sore throat
